Well I cannot believe how quickly 2009 came to a close! The last few months were a bit of a challenge both at work and personally, but I do hope that this new year will be a bit easier. We prepared for 2010 by watching my very favorite Iowa State Cyclones play in the Insight Bowl in Tempe. Naturally I wore my newest ISU shirt all day, so I am sure that is what led the team to victory - haha.
Today was spent taking down all of the holiday decorations including the trees. This year we had our traditional tree in living room, and I added a smaller tree in the family room. That second tree displayed my collection of Scandinavian ornaments, and my straw goats were beneath it. Diva 1 helped me to sort the ornaments as we took everything down which was a huge help...hopefully it will be easier to get things up next time since we organized things!
I have not given too much thought to making any resolutions. After cleaning out my "stash" of yarn and stitchery supplies, I realized that perhaps a self imposed "diet" might be in order. This particular diet means using up some of the things I have before adding to my collection. I guess it is a good thing I have some projects in mind already.
Diva 2 and I return to school on Monday, so I know our weekend will be spent doing lesson plans for me and catching up with some homework for her. We plan to enjoy this next week with Diva 1 before she returns to school for her next semester.
Happy New Year, everyone! I wish each of you a year of good health, lots of laughter, and more time to enjoy the things we love to do.
